Johnny Marr

Blistering set from Johnny Marr and band on Sunday 18 October at the Olympia Theatre, Dame Street, Dublin. Armed with his trusty Fender Jaguar he assaulted the crowd with tracks from his new solo album including Easy Money, Dynamo, Playland as well as Smiths favourites Panic, How Soon Is Now, Bigmouth Strikes Again, There is a light that never goes out, You Just Haven’t Earned It Yet, Baby, and great covers of The Primitives ‘Crash’ and Electronic’s ‘Getting Away With It’.

The Wedding Present and Smiths 7″ singles

Back in 1992, the Wedding Present (Leeds) released a single (thats a 7″ vinyl record for those young enough not to know) every month for 12 months and not only got into the Top 30 each month but joined the likes of Elvis in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most top 30 hits in one year. A very clever marketing idea on Gedge’s part.

The 12 singles pictures here with some Smiths too are just a few in the record collection but as the band are on tour again and including these 12 songs in the setlist I thought it might make a good post.
